No matter what season you come to Lochavich, our beautifully constructed Norwegian pine lodge will provide you with first class self-catering accommodation. With plenty of room for up to 4 people, Kilmun offers the following:
Living/dining room – large open plan room with dining table and chairs, two luxury leather settees, TV with Sky Freeview, DVD player, CD/tape player with radio. A selection of books and games is provided as alternative amusement for the occasional rainy day!
French doors open onto a large patio, giving panoramic views over Loch Avich.
Kitchen – fully equipped modern fitted kitchen with electric hob/cooker, full size fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, iron and all the usual pots, pans and cooking utensils. Access to a washing machine and tumble drier can be provided if required. Plenty of cupboard space and a full range of glasses, crockery and cutlery.
Bedrooms – two full size bedrooms (one double and one twin) with comfortable mattresses, pillows and duvets. Ample room for all your luggage as each bedroom has two bedside cabinets, a two-door wardrobe and a dressing table with mirror.
Bathroom – washbasin with vanity unit, WC, shower, heated towel rail and airing cupboard.
Cot and highchair available on request.
All rooms are wheelchair accessible and entry to external doors is by ramp rather than steps. Block paving at the front of the property gives plenty of off-road parking and the surrounding informal garden extends to about 0.5 acre with grass, mature trees and shrubs and a small burn running down to the loch.
All electricity, bed linen and towels are included in the price.
The lodge is non-smoking and we regret we are unable to accept pets.
How to find us:-
Please click for Online Map showing Kilmun (Avich Lodge)
From Oban - Take the A816 south. At Kilmelford turn left by ‘The Village Stores & Quaich Café’ onto a narrow, single track road, (signposted Lochavich 6 miles), which climbs steeply uphill before levelling out as it winds past a small loch. Keep following the road (there are no turnings off it!) until you drop down to Loch Avich. Our pine lodge, Kilmun, is situated half way along the loch on the right hand side of the road, about 1 mile past the Forestry Commission picnic site at Dorlin Point.
From Lochgilphead – Take the A816 north. At Kilmelford, turn right by ‘The Village Stores & Quaich Café’ and then follow the directions as given above.
Should you meet another vehicle on the single track road, please remember to use the passing places – if you pull off onto the grass verge, it may not be as firm as it looks!
